Frequently Asked Questions

  • Northwoods is for you if you are looking for a unique getaway in Minnesota. We are two hours northeast from Fargo and four hours northwest from Minneapolis.

There are three cabins, one A-Frame and two Tiny Cabins. Entering the property, you will be greeted by the woods of Northern Minnesota. Northwoods is about 10 minutes from the north entrance of Itasca State Park. We are directly off MN-200 and the roads on the property are gravel.

Experience at the A-Frame: When you arrive to Northwoods, you will take a left at the fork in the road and be led to the A-Frame. Parking is in front of the A-Frame and there are two steps onto the deck. The A-Frame has a full kitchen, three bedrooms, two full bathrooms, one half bath, and the Makerspace.

Experience at the Tiny Cabins: When you arrive to Northwoods, you will take a right at the fork in the road and be led to the Bathhouse. The Bathhouse is where you park your vehicle. The Tiny Cabins do not have plumbing. On either side of the Bathhouse are the two private bathrooms for Nord + Wald. Inside the Bathhouse is “The Local” (shared kitchen). Past the Bathhouse are the trails leading to the Tiny Cabins which can be traveled by foot or golf cart. Vehicles are not allowed past the Bathhouse. Nord is to the left; Wald is to the right. Nord is about 400 feet from the Bathhouse and Wald is about 300 feet from the Bathhouse. If you prefer, golf carts are available to rent ($20/stay). There are four steps to enter the Tiny Cabins. If you are not physically capable to get in and out of a golf cart, go up stairs, or walk to and from the Bathhouse – the Tiny Cabin experience may not be for you.

The Tiny Cabins do have a mini fridge but not a freezer. If you would like to keep food frozen or have enough space for beverages, we recommend bringing a cooler and buying ice before you arrive. Each Tiny Cabin has its own private firepit as well as a shared one at the Bathhouse if you choose to be social with the other guests. The Tiny Cabins sleep two adults and up to one child each. Renting both Nord + Wald would be perfect for two groups of people. You would each have your own Tiny Cabin and bathroom with shared kitchen and outdoor spaces.
